Each spring, the Women’s Network at VCU issues a call for nominations for the upcoming American Council on Education Virginia Women’s Network Senior Leadership Seminar. Participants are selected by the women’s network advisory group and submitted for nomination to the Virginia network.
Selection Criteria
Individuals who display a record of leadership at VCU and the potential to contribute significantly to higher education across Virginia are encouraged to apply. Preference is given to those nominees whose career goals include advancement in higher education. We especially welcome nominations of women of color since we are committed to increasing their representation and involvement in higher education administration.
To be accepted as a member in the ACE Virginia Network Senior Leadership Seminar class participants are required to commit to all three sessions. Each session includes an overnight stay with time for travel to and from the session’s location. Each session begins in the mid afternoon on a Thursday and concludes mid-afternoon on Friday.
Nomination Requirements
Presidents, deans, executive officers, and members of the Virginia Network community, such as institutional representatives, executive board members, and past participants of the senior leadership seminar are encouraged to nominate mid- and senior-level administrators for consideration. Please contact nominees to confirm their interest in participating and their ability to participate in all three sessions. if multiple nominations are submitted, please prioritize the nominees.
Nominations must be coordinated with the Virginia Network Institutional Representative (IR) from each campus or with a member of the Virginia Network board. VCU nomination must be received by April 07, 2020, for full consideration using this link. Nominations received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
Tuition
The tuition to participate in the senior leadership seminar is $700 and covers all program costs including all sessions. the fee covers all materials, speakers, receptions, and lunch and dinner meals. participants are also eligible for a special rate of $85 for the network’s 2021 state conference. the participation fee does not include lodging, breakfast, or transportation to and from the sessions. once selected, participants will be notified of options to remit payment.
